If there is an upcoming wedding or special event that you have to attend which requires you to wear a specific dress code such as Barong, Suit, or coat but you’re short of budget, I would suggest you visit Gardini Branches near you. Instead of buying a coat that probably worth 3 – 5 thousand pesos which you’ll only use for a day I think it is economical to rent. Gardini offer quality suits, barong or even tuxedo for rent. I avail their service 2 years ago I rented coat and a pair of pants for only P700 pesos in their branch near SM San Lazaro. I had a not so good experience because during that time I was not able to get the right coat that properly fit for my built but I should say it was manageable. If you’re planning to do the same I suggest you visit their branches ahead of time perhaps 2 weeks before the event so you can have the chance to reserve the formal wear that you need.
