Juan Manuel Marquez Cheating during pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Fight

Juan Manuel Marquez allegedly cheated pacquiao during pacquiao vs marquez 3 fight held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 12,2011 ET. I just came across my friend’s facebook account where the photos of Juan Manuel Marquez being caught stepping on the foot of Manny Pacquiao many times during the fight was posted on his wall. Probably it is not intentional on the part of Marquez but to know it was repeated a number of times sounds like cheating to me.

See the pictures and be the one to judge:

No way Marquez would be able to hit Pacquiao if he would not step on his foot and prevent him from moving away. Classic move but CHEATING nonetheless. Perhaps those Mexicans did not see it..or maybe it is their shameless style. Stupido..huh!

I don’t believe it! There are actually more than this: Round 4 @1:10, Round 5 @1:14, Round 7 @ 1:54. I stopped searching for more at Round 7, but I bet there are more to it than what this video!
I am a Filipino, a Pacman fan. All along I really believed Marquez won the fight, and thought it unfair that he lost. But looking closely at this, I think he just denigrated himself. He did not only deserve to lose, he needs to be penalised!

I am a fellow countrymen of Manny and his fan too. At the start of the match, I hoped that he knocks out JMM and seal the fight for good. But after the fight I felt that JMM won even though the judges called it for Manny. Even us Manny fans say that JMM should have won. But this is something new…

  5. deathwalker says

Deliberate stepping on your opponent’s foot needs to be penalized. That’s the same tactic used by Mosley against Pacman. It was a boring fight, I thought it was a draw, but stepping on a foot intentionally is the worst to see in that fight. Wake up Mexicans, your hero Marquez has no right to cry like a baby. He’s the one caught red handed on this one!

    • manny pacquio says

this will always happen when a left and a right handed fighters fight.
what do you say now, after the 4th fight; I did not see a step; did you??? ja ja ja

I’m not a fan of any of those boxers, I just love watching boxing… but cheating is cheating… that explains why marquez was quiet when he walked to the dug out. not like before his second fight with the pac, he was really protesting that he won the fight, this time he was quiet because he knows what he did in the fight haha… And to those boxing analyst, shame on you criticising the winner, all those talks about the fight then realize your all wrong haha!

  7. TruthBeTold says

I have been watching boxing for 45 years, and yes that is a very common trick. Usually when it is done the fighter getting cheated will point it out
to the ref. Somehow Packman is either too naive, stupid, or trusting of this cheating Mexican. Mexican fighters are very adept at cheating and in that country there are no bounds to how much cheating goes on, it is in the Mexian culture so they think little of it..

    • manny pacquio says

well; here is the same; only that the people here a more stupid that they do not see it happening. need to wake up it is 2012
this country is not an exception, recession remind you of something happening ???? jejeje at least we know it.

  8. TruthBeTold says

If Packman’s corner has 1/2 brain they will lodge a complaint. This kind of cheating further ruins the sport of boxing, which has enough going against it already.
Cheaters, beaters, biters, and felons like the Marquez, Mayweather, Tyson and others are goons that have ruined the sport more than he helped it. Packman is one of the few talented champions with any sense of fair play and sportsmanship.

  9. edwin m tamondong says

Its a real cheater, a dirty tactics. Now, Marquez fans especially the so-called “boxing analysts” who said that this man cheater won the fight, say your piece.

  10. edwin m tamondong says

This dirty tactics is not good for Boxing, its a show of unsportsmanship, other professional boxers should not follow this.
Manny truly wins it, his movement was neutralized because of this tactic. He deserves the Judges decision.

  11. Abdullah says

Marquez admit it at the Post Fight Conference. Marquez said ” I did everything to win the fight”. Cheaters go to hell he he

  12. mike63 says

beristain……………. trainer of d year………………. teaching step on opponent toes technique…………………………. how awful………………..

  13. JC says

Juan Manuel Marquez as a great cheater… Hahaha, it was a great tactic of of lousy boxer from Mexico. He was really a cheater. JMM do not deserve to win and do not deserve to have another match for Pacquiao.. Anyway he earned more than 7M dollars. Marquez, you are a great CHEATER.

  14. lance crupoz says

JM Marcheatz is real cheater, some says fights between orthodox and southpaw stepping of both foot of each fighters is natural, why that only marcheatz steps the foot of manny and manny is not?….

  16. Wilfred Carbonell says

JMM and company, sore losers, cheaters, not a sportsman. Never to be looked up to. They do not even come close to what Pacquiao is. Pacquiao was not prepared for a cheating Marquez! Marquez’s true form is out.

  17. marco says

Mexicans are veterans when it came to boxing. So they all know the dirty tricks. Marquez’s losing the game were numbered when he came to Philippines wearing a shirt saying “we were robbed.” The piss drinker SOB has no respect at all.

  18. Pak Q marquez says

Lol. Marquez is a cheater. he is stupid. but he cant knock out pacman. bcoz of that footstep. all people are noob thats says marquez is a true winner of that fight. he dont deserve to win. he is asshole. Go pacman. Pac marquez in the Ass.

  19. Meanie says

Marquez deserved the decision. Cheating so he can land clean hit on Pacquiao. This is what you call a kamikaze boxer who have nothing to lose.

    Marquez deserves to lose!

  20. jmd0201 says

The judges might have seen Marquez stepping on Pacman’s foot many times – the best reason why Pacquiao was given the decision despite looking like underdog. I thought the judges were stupid, but if their decision was due to this foot stepping, they are true great judges.

  21. gmlxdm09 says

and probably one good reason why marquez had to gain weight… so that he could have better chances of effectively pinning down pacquiao and immobilizing him whenever he wanted to. such a shame.. all along i thought he was doing well… good thing there’s always a replay..

  22. Iczp PH says

Agreed with monk… stop this racism!
Whatever had happened it happened. The judge had decided and the fight is over. What happened in the fight is a lesson for future boxers and to us fans. If we cant keep our mouth shut up, we became losers ourselves. If Marquez had cheated, it will be accounted on him and he will bear the shame on the nation he represents, however, we should understand humans make deliberate mistakes and Marquez is no exemption. It is not reasonable to judge a nation by the performance of its boxers, that nation itself should purify itself of its impurities and so, let’s be satisfied with the results. Good evening!

    • Dany says

Right away you can tell that you don’t know about boxing! Myself im an amateur boxer every time I fight a southpaw it’s an 80% probability that I will step on his foot just because he’s a southpaw.
