The long wait was ended when Nissan Motor Philippines unveils its new X-Trail CVT last July 4,2010 Friday at Le Pavilion. The said X-Trail CVT is somehow alike of its predecessor but when it comes to size the new X-Trail is bigger and wider here’s the measurement as compared to the old X- Trail 120mm longer, 20mm wider and 10mm taller.
When it comes to technology the new X-trail posses Xtronic Continuous Variable Transmission (XCVT) which is as explained in Nissan global website CVT provides smooth and “stepless” ratio changes, unlike the conventional transmission systems that use sets of fixed gears. CVT delivers enhanced fuel economy and seamless acceleration with a “direct” drive feel for enhanced AT (Automatic Transmission) driving pleasure. Variants of the said model possess DOHC 2.5 Li in-line QR25DE engine which produces maximum of 170 horsepower and 230 newton-meter of torque. Available variants are 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, four wheel drive comes with the famous hyper roof rail.
One of newest feature of the new X-Trail was it cruise control function which would provide better driving experience during long range driving. Both are present in both 4WD and 2WD variant.
