How to Adjust Time and Date in GShock Digital Watches

Basic GShock Digital watches have 5 buttons that you can press to adjust the time and date settings on them. You can find 2 on the left side bezel, 2 on the right side, and 1 on the lower center of the bezel.

How to Adjust the Date and Time in GShock

This has 4 steps and the time it takes to do this is between 3 minutes to 5 minutes.

Step 1: Press the Adjust button

The “Adjust” button on your GShock watch is located on the northwest side of the bezel. Press it to see the “seconds” digit starts blinking. This means that your GShock watch is now in the “Setup” mode.

Step 2: Press the Mode button

The “Mode” button on your GShock watch is located on the southwest side of the bezel. Press it accordingly until the respective digits on the screen start blinking.

For example, press the Adjust button once to make the “Hour” digit blink or press it twice to see the “Minutes” digit blink. Furthermore, press it four consecutive times to see the “Date” on the watch blink.

The blinking digit is the one that gets adjusted in the next step.

Step 3: Adjust the Value of the Digits

Press the Start-Stop button to adjust the value of the digit that is blinking. The Start-Stop button is located on the Southeast side of the watch bezel. Press it multiple times to change the digits’ value. Press it once to increase the value by 1. Or press and hold the button to increase the value rapidly.

Press the Start-Stop button multiple times until you get the correct time and date settings for your country of location.

Step 4: Press the Adjust button to return to Timekeeping Mode

Once you are satisfied with the time and date adjustment on your GShock Digital watch. Press the Adjust button found on the northeast side of the bezel to make your watch return to “Timekeeping” mode.

Alternatively, you can leave your watch idle for approximately 3 minutes and it will return to “Timekeeping” mode automatically.

How to set the Alarm Time in GShock Digital Watch

Your GShock digital watch has an alarm feature that you can set by pressing the buttons on the side of its bezel.

Once you set the alarm time, your watch will beep 20 times and its backlight flashes for 20 seconds simultaneously with your designated time. Here is how to schedule the alarm. This has 6 steps and the time it takes to do this is between 4 minutes to 6 minutes.

Step 1: Press the Mode button to switch to Alarm mode

You can find the “Mode” button located southwest side of the bezel. Press it once to switch your Gshock watch to “Alarm” mode.

Step 2: Press the Adjust button to select the digits to adjust for the Alarm

Press the “Adjust” button once so the digits for the Hour start blinking.

Step 3: Press the Start-Stop button to Set the value for the hour digit

The Start-Stop button is located Southeast of the bezel. Press it once to increase the value of the digit by 1. Press and hold the button to increase the value rapidly.

Note: repeat steps 4 and steps 5 to adjust the month and date of the alarm

Step 6: Press the Adjust button to go back to Timekeeping mode

Finally, once you are done setting the Hour, Minutes, Month, and Date for the alarm. Press the “Adjust” button to return to timekeeping mode. Doing so will also finalize the schedule of the alarm.

How to Turn the Alarm Time On or Off in GShock

This has 2 steps and the time it takes to do this is between 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Step 1: Press the Mode button located on the southwest side of the bezel. This will switch the watch to alarm mode.

Step 2: Press the Start-Stop button located southeast of the bezel. Press it multiple times until the alarm indicator is turned off.

How to Switch from 12-hour to 24-hour Time formats in GShock

This has 2 steps and the time it takes to do this is between 10 seconds to 20 seconds.

Step 1: Press the Adjust button

You can find the “Adjust” button on your G-Shock watch on the northwest side of the bezel. Press it to see the Seconds timer start blinking.

Step 2: Press the “G” button

You can find the “G” button on the South side of the bezel. Press it once to switch to either a 12-hour or 24-hour format.
