APEC 2015 NCR Work and Class Suspension Schedule in November 2015

The Philippines will be hosting the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) – Economic Leader’s Meeting 2015 this November 18 and 19 in Metro Manila, and has decided that work in public / private sectors and classes all levels be suspended in NCR (based on Proclamation No. 1072) during the 2-day event.

Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC 2015) will be attended by 21 world leaders. To ensure their safety and to ease up traffic in Metro Manila, several government offices have released their respective memorandums declaring November 17, and 20 to also become holiday in NCR.
APEC NCR work class suspension november 2015Based on Memorandum Circular No. 84, upon recommendation of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation – Office of the Director General (APEC-ODG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have decided that work in government offices including government owned or controlled corporations be suspended on November 17 and 20. The memorandum however told that government agencies that offer basic services such as safety, security, health, and emergency preparedness will have to continue their operation.

Department of Education (DepED) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED-NCR) also released their own memorandums declaring that November 17, and 20 become school holidays. DepED told that respective school division superintendents to conduct make-up classes for the 2-day class suspension under their own discretion.
