The easiest way to know if the recruitment agency is DMW accredited is to simply check their names on the Department of Migrant Workers’ website.
In this post, I will teach you a total of 5 ways you can verify if the agency is legit and DMW accredited. Three of these require an internet connection, while the 4th way requires that you have access to a telephone line. The 5th way requires that you go to the nearest DMW branch.
What is a DMW Accredited Recruitment Agency?
DMW Accredited Recruitment Agency means that the recruitment agency has acquired a license to operate from the Department of Migrant Workers which permits them to hire skilled Filipino workers for overseas employment.
In order for agencies to acquire accreditation from DMW, they should submit the requirements that the DMW asks of them. They should also comply with the rules and regulations set by the DMW.
Why should you verify if the agency is DMW Accredited
The DMW is an executive department of the Philippine government that protects the rights and promotes the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers as well as their families. It is also the branch of the government that supervises and monitors the recruitment and manning agencies in the Philippines.
Before sending your applications to a manpower agency. It is your responsibility to verify if the latter is accredited by the Department of Migrant Workers. The main reason is, that it is for your own protection and safety.
As we all know, some agencies operate to really help you get a job bound for abroad as it is their passion to help Filipinos and their families live a better life.
Meanwhile, there are so-called agencies that are unreliable or untrustworthy and whose aim is just to take advantage of you. They will take your hard-earned funds and then just run away. Hence, they are called fly-by-night. To avoid such agencies, you have to verify if they are DMW accredited.
If you have an internet connection, there are three options that you can do on the DMW website to know if the agency has a valid license, so they operate as a recruitment agency in the Philippines.
Moreover, you will also know in this post the 2 other ways to verify the status of the agency should you want to do it in the traditional way.
Check the Status of the Agency in DMW by License Validity
To check the status of the Agency in DMW by license validity, visit the DMW website then go to Licensed Recruitment Agencies, enter the name of the agency in the search bar, and then view the license status of the agency. Below is the 3-step guide.
Step 1: Visit the DMW Website and Go to the License Recruitment Agencies Tab
Go to the Department of Migrant Workers’ website at www.dmw.gov.ph. At the homepage, proceed to the “Licensed Recruitment Agencies” tab which you will find in the navigation bar. The latter will redirect you to the “Licensed Recruitment Agencies” page.
Step 2: Enter the Agency’s Name in the Search Bar
Enter the correct name of the agency in the agency space. If you know the complete name of the agency then type it completely. Otherwise, the first three names/keywords of the agency will do. The website will load all the agencies that have those names/keywords on them.
Step 3: View the License Status of the Agency
The DMW website will indicate if the agency has a Valid License, Cancelled, or Suspended. It will also show you the complete details of the agency such as the complete name, address, telephone number, email, and validity of the license.
In the example, you will notice the that agency has a “VALID LICENSE” and its expiration date is on September 25, 2026.
Check the Status of the Agency in DMW by Approved Job Orders
To check the status of the Agency in DMW by Approved Job Orders, visit the DMW website, then go to Approved Job Orders, tap Agency in the dropdown menu, enter the name of the agency in the search bar, and view the approved job orders of the agency. Below is the 3-step guide.
Step 1: Visit the DMW Website then go to Approved Job Orders Tab
Visit the Department of Migrant Workers’ website at www.dmw.gov.ph. At the homepage, go to the “Approved Job Orders” tab which you can find in the navigation bar. It will redirect you to the “Approved Job Orders of Licensed Recruitment Agencies” page.
Step 2: Select Agency in the Dropdown Menu then Type the Name of the Agency in the Given Space
In the menu, choose “Agency”. Afterward, type the name of the agency in the given space. If you know the complete name of the agency then type it then. Or input the first three names/keywords of the agency.
As a result, the website will show you all the agencies having those words on their names. Afterward, hit the “Search” button. The agency is accredited by DMW if it has an approved job order.
Note: there are times when the website takes a while to load so just be patient.
Step 3: View the DMW Approved Job Orders of the Agency
If the agency is accredited by DMW, then the website will show you the approved job orders of the agency. You will also see in the list the Job Sites, Job Order Balance, and the Date the JO was approved.
Check the Status of the Agency by Calling the DMW Hotline
If you can’t find the name of the agency on the website, you may inquire directly to DMW by calling their hotline number.
To see the Department of Migrant Worker’s contact details, go to the dmw.gov.ph website, then proceed to Contact Us, then scroll down until you see the “Hotline” that you can dial using your phone.
To check the status of the agency via the DMW Hotline, using your phone, dial the hotline number 8-722-11-44 then talk to a Department of Migrant Workers employee.
Check the Status of the Agency by Writing an Email to DMW
If you are not in a hurry, another way to inquire DMW about the license status of the agency is by sending them an email. For general inquiries, you can write an email to email@example.com, and for feedback and suggestions, write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To see the DMW’s email addresses, go to www.dmw.gov.ph, then Contact Us, then scroll down until you see the “Email Us” blue box.
To check the status of the agency via email, compose an email inquiry about the status of the recruitment agency then email it to email@example.com.
Here is the sample email template that you can use to inquire about the license of an agency:

I would like to inquire from your good office if [Agency Name] whose office Address is [123 agency office address sample] has a valid license.
The agency is hiring for [name of the profession] which I am interested in to apply. However, I cannot find the name of their agency on your database.

Check the Status of the Agency by Inquiring Directly at the DMW Offices
This is the last option to verify the status of the agency. When you do not know how to use the DMW website, don’t have access to a phone, or do not know how to write an email.
To check the status of the agency by inquiring directly to the DMW office, visit the DMW branch office near you and inquire directly to them about the agency’s license status.

How to Check if the Agency is Not DMW Accredited?
To check if the agency is not DMW Accredited, check the agency’s license validity on the DMW website, check the agency’s approved job orders, call the DMW hotline, email the DMW, and inquire directly at DMW offices.
The agency is NOT DMW Accredited if it has no valid license, has no approved job orders, and has no records in DMW.
How to know if an Agency has a Suspended Licence from DMW
When you verify the agency’s name on the DMW website, the latter will indicate “SUSPENDED” (in red color) which you will see in the top right corner of its card.

How to Find Work Abroad in the Philippines?
