Cherry Mobile Excalibur, named after the legendary sword of King Arthur is the latest octa-core device from CM. Recently, the Philippines’ leading mobile phone distributor released yet another affordable octa-core smartphone dubbed as Excalibur. This android device is packed with numerous features and lots of customizable gesture offering with its P6999 price (below 7K).

It has Corning Gorilla Glass protection for its front and back panel. It allows the device to be impact and scratch-resistant. In between, it has a magnesium alloy sim card tray and metal decorative pieces for its USB port and 3.5mm audio jack.
It is an octa-core-powered device running on the latest Android KitKat operating system out of the box. It flaunts a 5-inch IPS HD display. The 8MP rear camera is equipped with an F2.0 aperture that allows Excalibur to capture quality photos even under low-light conditions.
Excalibur offers lots of customizable gestures which can be accessed by tapping and swiping the screen (Up, Down, Left, Right); Double top to wake the screen, draw up to unlock, draw down to pause, draw right for the next song, and draw left for the previous song (this reminds of O+ phones air shuffle feature).
The non-removable battery perhaps is the only drawdown of this device as it only has a capacity of 1980mAh which is I think insufficient for a 5-inch smartphone.
