Cherry Mobile W900 is one of the latest offerings from the Filipino mobile phone company. I was able to play with the W900 for few minutes during the cherry mobile promo held in Robinsons Manila on May 27, 2012.
I am intrigued why it bears the name “The Dragon Phone,” but perhaps it aims to penetrate the minds of consumers with mythical characteristics, power, and a strong impact just like that of a Dragon.
At a glance, I thought it was another Wil phone in the making, because of the “W” logo that is often attached to Wil Time Big Time host’s signature phone, but good thing I was wrong. Cherry Mobile W900 introductory price is Php 9999 which I think is very much appealing to consumers. W900 is equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which runs with a 1.2Ghz Snapdragon processor and has a 4 inches capacitive multi-touchscreen.
It features a front-facing VGA camera, and a 5 MP main camera (without flash). Its hardware is capable of HD video recording up to 720p. This Dragon phone is wifi enabled and can also function as a hotspot that allows smartphones nearby to connect to the internet. One prominent feature it has which is not present with the earlier release of cherry mobile flagship phones is Eco mode that activates with one slide of a button.
