Chikka offer Free Text in the Philippines on Facebook

One of the good news I’ve heard this past week aside from opening of G. Araneta underpass is that Chikka now offer free text in the Philippines thru facebook.

We all know that Chikka allows every mobile subscribers in the Philippines to receive text messages from their love ones abroad for free. Now with the existence of Chikka Lite Facebook App, sending and receiving free text messages is even more accessible especially if you have facebook account (who doesn’t).

There are limitations however, every registered Chikka Lite users only have an allocated 30 free text (SMS) with 160 characters per day (to be replenished daily) and P2.50 will be charged to Smart and Globe subscribers and P2.00 charged from Sun users when they reply to each Chikka Lite Message you have sent.

When I was out of the country for three months I utilize Chikka to send SMS to my relative in the Philippines primarily to save on call cards (Top Up) cost. If you plan to reduce texting expenses abroad then this is another way to do so.

Here are the steps to use Chikka on Facebook:

1. At the top of your Facebook account, on the search box key in Chikka Lite then hit go to App

2. Just enter you one of your Smart, Globe, and Sun mobile number. It should start with international area code (63). Example: 63919++++, 63923++++

3. A confirmation code will be sent to your registered mobile number in just few seconds after you key in your mobile number. Enter the confirmation code

4. Start adding buddies and use Chikka Lite
