Smart Communications has tapped popular OPM icons namely Ely Buendia, Rico Blanco, Raymund Marasigan, and Barbie Almabis in its latest Smart Bro TV Commercial.
The telecom giant’s TVC also features 4 popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. The two are located in Luzon, 1 in the Visayas, and 1 in Mindanao.
The music icons of this generation namely Ely Buendia, Rico Blanco, Raimund Marasigan, and Barbie Almalbis, show the power of Smart when comes to the mobile internet connection in this new TV commercial.
The four musicians were featured in different tourist destinations in the Philippines. Probably, to showcase how powerful and how wide is the coverage area of Smart’s new broadband technology.
The commercial started when Rico Blanco sits on one of Chocolate Hills in Bohol to use a smart broadband dongle to set up a video conference.
The next scene is Raimund Marasigan, while at the back of a moving pickup truck. He uses Smart’s other offering, the pocket WIFI to connect his tablet to the internet also to join the video conference. With Mayon Volcano as the background, we can easily determine that he is in Albay, Bicol.
Same with Raimund, Barbie also uses smart pocket WIFI to connect her tablet on the internet so she can join the 3 OPM icons in the video call. Based on her background, which is the Vinta and water villas. It seems that she is somewhere in Mindanao presumably in Jolo Sulu.
Lastly, Ely Buendia located perhaps in Fort Santiago in Intramuros, Manila. He is also connected in a video call with the three artists. All of them collaborate to perform the chorus of the classic song “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy” of Francis M. for the viewing fans.
