Despite the loss to Argentina by merely 4 points (85-81), Gilas Pilipinas supporters and fans remain proud of our national team for so many reasons. Perhaps, the first one is that Argentina is a high-ranking basketball team. I think ranked 3rd over all in FIBA compared to PH which ranked 34th. Yet, Argentina won only by 4 points. Aside from that, fans of Gilas Pilipinas knew that the team really did their best during  every game in Spain.

In fact, they performed well and put a good show during the 3rd day of 2014 FIBA World Cup event. Aside from the 3 point shots thrown by Gilas members (Jason Castro, Jimmy Alapag et al.), there are two slam dunks courtesy of Gabe Norwood that really leave a mark to the fans of Gilas, and also perhaps to the fans of Argentinian Basketball team.

During the 3 minute mark of first quarter, Norwood received a pass break from Jason Castro, and without hesitation scores a slam dunk over veteran player Luis Scola. This causes a 19-12 lead by the Gilas team.

The same thing happened during the 6 minute mark of the third quarter. Gabe faked a pass to Center Andray Blatche, without hesitation he drive towards the ring and landed a slam dunk over Marcos Mata.
