Letting go of someone you love is not easy, I know. But do you know what is even harder? It is staying in a relationship when the other person no longer loves you.
I remember this old quote about letting go back in my high school days. It goes like this “If you really love someone set him/her free if he returns in kind you know he/she’s yours.”
This quote is really hard to apply to real life. I know that also. Especially if the person involved was me/you. However, it is what it is. One way or another you have to set the other person free and move on with your life. Maybe you are not meant to be and you will meet someone who is even better.
Today I came across this youtube video titled “letting go quotes.” I got interested in it not because I can relate. Rather, I think of those who will be looking for these quotes because they are trying to muster the strength to let go of someone they love.

Why do we have to part while love is still there?
Why do we have to suffer? Why do we have to cry when someone bids goodbye? Why do beginnings have an end? Why do we have to meet only to lose each other in the end?
There are questions left unanswered, words left unsaid, letter left unread, poems left undone, song left unsung, love left unfulfilled.
In a relationship, one of the hardest things to do is saying goodbye, and letting go. It’s like breaking a crystal, co’z you’ll never know when you will be able to pick up the pieces again. More often than not. Those who go, feels not the pain in parting, It is those who are left behind, co’z they are left w/ memories of love that was almost meant to be.
At the end of relationship, we are embarrassed to find ourselves alone. Unfair as it may, but that’s the way love goes. That’s the bitter risk of falling in love. After all nothing is constant but change…everything will eventually come to an end w/out us knowing when, w/out us knowing how, w/out us even knowing why. And we must forget, not because we want to,but because we have to.
In letting go, sorrows comes not a single spy, but in a battalion. It seems that everywhere you go, everything you do, every song you hear, every turn of your head, every movement of your body, every beat of your heart, every blink of your eye and every breath that you take always reminds you of him/her. It’s like stab of knife a torture in the night. Funny how the whole world would becomes depopulated when only one person is missing. Just imagine, there are billions of people on earth and yet you feel empty and lonely w/out each other.
I don’t know if it’s worth calling an art, but letting go entails special skill coupled w/ considerable space and time. Time heals all wounds but it takes a little push on our part. Acceptance plays a part. Not all wishes comes true., not all love stories end with “And they happily ever after”.
Sometimes we have to part because of the circumstances beyond our control. “We have to suffer, if it will provide happiness to others. Every beginnings has it ends, like every dawn has its dusk. It something we have to accept with faith.
It’s over, he’s/she’s gone. But life has to go on, Goodbye doesn’t always mean forever. There will be a place and time where question will be answered, words will be spoken, letters will be read, poems will be recited in the night, song will be sung in harmony and love will be fulfilled.
