The long wait has ended when Nissan Motor Philippines unveils their newest sub-compact SUV – X-Trail CVT last July 4, 2010, Friday at Le Pavilion in Pasay city.
The said X-Trail CVT is somehow similar to its predecessor. However, when it comes to size the new X-Trail is bigger and wider. Based on the measurements compared to the old model, the X- Trail CVT is 120mm longer, 20mm wider, and 10mm taller.
When it comes to technology the new X-trail posses Xtronic Continuous Variable Transmission (XCVT) which is as explained on Nissan global website CVT provides smooth and “stepless” ratio changes.
Unlike the conventional transmission systems that use sets of fixed gears. CVT delivers enhanced fuel economy and seamless acceleration with a “direct” drive feel for enhanced AT (Automatic Transmission) driving pleasure.
Variants of the said model possess DOHC 2.5 Li in-line QR25DE engine which produces a maximum of 170 horsepower and 230 newton-meter of torque. Available variants are 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive. The four-wheel-drive variant comes with the famous hyper roof rail. One of the newest features of the new X-Trail was its cruise control function which would provide a better driving experience during long-range driving. This feature is present in both 4WD and 2WD variant. If you want more detailed information about the X-Trail, you can check http://www.x-trail.com.ph for further details.
