Panagbenga 2011 is the celebration of the 16th Baguio flower festival. This year’s main theme is “The Environment and Community in Harmony”.
With reference to Wikipedia Panagbenga was formerly known as Baguio Flower Festival. Panagbenga is a month long flower festival celebrated during month of February and ended up during the first Sunday of March in Baguio the summer capital of the Philippines.
History says that in 1996 Ike Picpican an archivist and curator suggested that Baguio Flower Festival be reneamed to “Panagbenga” a Kankanaey term that means “a season of blossoming, a time for flowering”. I have here the complete list activities for this year’s Flower festival:
