Here is the list of DMW/POEA branches and Regional Offices in the Philippines. Currently, there are 8 branches in Luzon, 4 regional offices in the Visayas, and 6 Satellite offices in Mindanao.

According to the 2020 survey by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there are an estimated 1.77 Million Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) around the world. These numbers are growing every day. The reason is that a lot of Filipinos are seeking better job opportunities overseas so they can provide a better future for their families back in the Philippines.

One of the purposes of DMW/POEA is to provide assistance and protection to these workers on their various concerns. It conducts pre-employment, pre-deployment orientation seminars, and information campaigns for newly hired overseas workers. The agency also provides legal assistance and repatriation assistance to workers who are a victim of illegal recruitment and mal-treatment from overseas employers.

DMW/POEA is the one responsible for monitoring countries that are friendly to migrant workers as they have met at least one of the requirements imposed by the agency. The latter is also responsible for naming the countries that are off-limits to Filipino workers for being none labor-compliant.

There are probably hundreds of land-based recruitment agencies in the Philippines. DMW/POEA is continuously looking after them to make sure they are following the rules and regulations implemented by the agency. DMW/POEA issues licenses to those complaint recruitment agencies and penalizes those who do not.

To verify if the recruitment agency is accredited by DMW, visit the official website of DMW (www.dmw.gov.ph). At the homepage, tap the “Licensed Recruitment Agencies” link located on the navigation bar. Afterward, in the search bar, type the complete name of the recruitment agency. The DMW website will then show the details of the recruitment agency. The Recruitment Agency is accredited by DMW if it has a “Valid License” status.
