Finally, I decided to transfer my web hosting from GoDaddy to Hostgator. This blog host was GoDaddy with their 4G DeLuxe shared hosting for a year.
Recently, I renew my hosting from them for another year but after a few months, I decided to transfer hosting to Hostgator.
I don’t have that much problem with GoDaddy way back aside from the frequent occurrence of high page load time. Their customer service is also very friendly but it seems that they were not able to directly address my problem. It just keeps on going and never been solve.
They always told me that they were not able to duplicate my problem but every time I check my site on Pingdom the result is still the same (page load time still above 10 seconds). Also, every time I report a problem it would take hours before I receive a reply.
I made several adjustments on mattscradle since GoDaddy told the problem is on my end. I use Superchache, W3 Total Cache, and any other tools one at a time to speed up my blog. Based on the Pingdom test, nothing happens, and just getting worst.
I even come to the point to disable all my plugins and made another test but the page load time is still above 10 seconds. So I finally decided to change my hosting from Godaddy to Hostgator.
After doing so, my page load time was reduced to an average of 6 seconds with all my plugins and scripts ON. There are times when it loads in under 4 seconds even without using the caching plugin.
I will try to use cache plugins to know if there will be a significant reduction in page load time. I have nothing against my previous host since they are part of mattscradle for a year.
But I think its time to move on and try another hosting company to maximize the capability of this site. You can read the steps on how I was able to transfer hosting from GoDaddy to Hostgator without downtime. If you are planning to transfer to Hostgator. They offer a hosting plan for as low as $4.95 per month. For me, it is very affordable.
