Happy Man has released another affordable smartphone dubbed Starmobile Turbo. It’s an affordable all-around smartphone that offers the latest touch features: Double Tap to wake/sleep, 2 or 3 fingers multi-point gestures, and call and text filtering.

Starmobile Turbo has a 5-inch capacitive HD display, running in the latest Android KitKat OS. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, backed by a Dual Core Mali-400MP2 GPU.

The 4GB internal storage is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It only has 1GB of RAM which is maybe just enough to store the usual day-to-day social media apps like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Watch the Unboxing and Demo of the Turbo from Starmobileph youtube channel:

Based on the demo, Starmobile calls the free flip cover “Smart” due to the feature that it offers. Firstly, you need to remove the original back casing of the Starmobile turbo before you can fix the smart flip cover to the device. This means that the latter and the actual device become one. It is less bulky when compared to using a third-party casing.

Furthermore, the free flip cover has a rectangular transparent frame on the front which allows you to see the date, time, and notifications without opening the cover. When you lift the cover, the phone automatically turns on its screen.

The Double-Tap feature enables you to double-tap anywhere on the screen to turn the device into standby mode or double-tap again on the screen to wake it up.

When the StarMobile Turbo is on standby mode, you can wake it up with its “Smart Awake” feature. When the device wakes up it will automatically open the apps that you want to use. For example, when the screen is turned off, you can draw the letter “V” on the screen to wake it up and immediately open the “Video” application. Or draw the letter “C” to signal the Starmobile Turbo to open the “Camera” app. You can see the complete list of commands in Starmobile turbo.

The Starmobile Turbo also has a multi-gesture feature that enables you to use 2 or more fingers to touch the screen and send commands to the device. In the demo, touching the home screen with your 2 fingers sliding downward will command the device to make a call. Using again your 2 fingers to slide upward will command the device to send an SMS.

USB On The Go connectivity feature enables the StarMobile Turbo to access your files on your USB drive. It is almost similar to connecting your USB dongle to your PC. Except that you need the OTG cable. You can view photos, watch videos, and access files stored on your dongle just like when you are using your PC. You can enjoy all these features in StarMobile Turbo which cost only 6990 pesos. I suggest that you watch the demo to give you an idea about the features of the StarMobile Turbo.
