Internet Action Star Ramon Bautista is currently in the limelight after he calls Davao Women ‘ Hipon ’ during his visit at Kadayawan Festival held on August 16,2014 (Saturday) at Davao City.
Commercial model /actor / TV host Ramon Bautista earns the ire of Dabawenyos particularly the city officials after he remarked that Davao has lots of hipon women during the event in the city. The Hipon term or joke refers to a woman who has good looking body but having a not so attractive face. It’s basically the way you eat shrimps where you throw the head and eat the body.
During the event Ramon Bautista told “Tama, ang daming hipon dito sa Davao, alright!” He also began chanting “Hipon, hipon, hipon.” When I say “Hi” you say “Pon,” alright!!!

“I’m here in front of you to say my apologies because sinabi ko madaming hipon dito. Oo nga, nahihiya po ako sa inyo because you welcome me in your beautiful city. Andito po ako lagi, at nageenjoy po ako dito, para masabi ko ang mga bagay na yon na marami sa inyo ang na-offend. I say my sincerest apologies, sana po matanggap nyo. From the bottom of my heart sobrang nahihiya po ako sa inyong lahat. Sana mapatawad nyo po ako. Mahal ko po kayong lahat.”
“Again my sincerest apologies. Party, party po tayo.”
On August 18,2014, the Radio DJ also Tweet his apologies to the Dabawenyos. He said that he is willing to accept whatever the consequence of the misdeed he has done.
Meanwhile, there is no news yet whether Ramon Bautista will be declared “Persona Non Grata” or an unacceptable / unwelcome person in Davao City.
Update: As of August 19,2014 (Tuesday) Ramon Bautista is now declared Persona Non Grata in Davao City.
